The 2-4-6 Residence is based on a modular unit that reflects all the different faces of the inhabiting occupants. This unit operates at a variety of scales within the residence ranging from a repetitive pattern that is tessellated on facades and fences, to a formal level as it informs the plans, as well as implications on sustainable energy mechanisms within and throughout the residence. To illustrate, on a pattern scale, the facade tessellation reflects the surrounding colours of the context through fritted glass. On a sustainable energy level, solar cells that concentrate solar power into a PV cell reflect the shape of an overlaid pattern of the module.
